MM Internet Setup Instructions for Email

Setup Instructions for Microsoft Outlook Express 4/5

1.  Open up Outlook Express.  Below is a couple of ways to find the icon.  The Outlook Express icon is circled in      black.  The icon showed below is for Outlook Express 5 but the Outlook Express 4 icon should look similar.

On Your Desktop

Some people may  have a quick taskbar which is basically icons next to the "Start" button.  The Outlook Express icon looks like or similar to the one above.

2.  Once Outlook Express is open you should see a screen similar to the one below.  If you find that a Wizard pops up asking if you wish to setup an email account please cancel out of it so your screen looks similar to the one below.

3.  Click on the "Tools" item at the top where File, Edit, View, etc... are located.

4.  Click on "Accounts" under the "Tools" item.

5.  You will now be presented with an "Internet Accounts" screen as shown below.  Please left click on the "Add" button and then click on the "Mail" option.

6.  You have now launched the "Internet Connection Wizard" which will guide you through setting up your email account.  Please enter in your real name or the name you want people to see when you send emails.  The name you enter here will not affect the email address people reply to.

7.  Please click the "Next" button and you will now have a window similar to the one below.  Make sure the option "I already have an e-mail address that I'd like to use." is selected.  Now enter in your e-mail address in the "E-mail address" field.  Your email address should be username@mminternet.com.

8.  Please click the "Next" button and  you will now have a window similar to the one below.  Please make sure "POP3" is selected for "My incoming mail server is a" and that Incoming and Outgoing fields have mail.mminternet.com in both of them.  After your done your window should look exactly like the one below.

9.  Please click the "Next" button and you will now have a window similar to the one below.  For the "Account name:" field enter in your username.  For the "Password:" field enter in the password listed on your instructions.  Make sure the option "Remember password" is checked but the option "Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)" is not checked.

10.  Please click the "Next" button and you will now have a window similar to the one below.  This means you finished setting up your e-mail account and now press the "Finish" button to complete the setup.
