Setup Instructions for Netscape Communicator 4.7 With an Existing Profile

1.  Open up Netscape Navigator or Netscape Messenger.

2.  Select the "Edit" item from the toolbar where "File, View, Go, etc..." are located.

3.  Select "Preferences..." from the drop down menu.

4.  Expand the item "Mail & Newsgroups" so it shows all the options like the picture below.  If it is not expanded simply click on the white box next to "Mail & Newsgroups" and you should see the options expand.  After you have done that please select the "Identity" option below.  Enter in the name you want people to see when you send email in the "Your name:" box and enter in your email address in the "Email address:" box.  All the other boxes below are purely optional and you may ignore them.

5.  Now select the option "Mail Servers."  In the box labeled "Outgoing mail (SMTP) server:" enter in mail.mminternet.com shown in the picutre below.  Please leave the "Outgoing mail server user name:" field blank.  Now please click on the "Add" button next to the "Incoming Mail Servers" box.

6.  You will be presented with a window similar to the one below.  For the "Server Name:" field enter in mail.mminternet.com.  Make sure the "Server Type:" is a "POP3 Server" and put your username in the "User Name:" field.  Check the box labeled "Remember password."  You may ignore the other two boxes as they're optional.

7.  Press the "OK" button and your screen should now look similar to the one below with the mail.mminternet.com in the "Incoming Mail Servers" box.

8.  Now select the option "Newsgroup Servers" under "Mail & Newsgroups."  Your windows should now look like the one below.

9.  Click on the "Add" button now.  You should have a screen similar to the one below.  In the "Server:" field enter in news.mminternet.com.  Make sure the "Port:" field is 119 and leave the "Supports encrypted connections (SSL)" and "Always use name and password" box unchecked like below.

10.  Now click on the "OK" button.  Your screen should look like the one below with news.mminternet.com in the "Newsgroup Servers" box.

11.  Congratulations, you have finished setting both e-mail and newsgroups for your MM Internet account.  You can new press the "OK" button and check email or browse newsgroups.
