DSL Forum
MM Internet uses a web based forum to open communication
between ourselves and our customers. The result is a community of customers
and staff that both complements our technical support and allows people
to solve each others problems and ask questions about DSL.
Our DSL forum includes a web based discussion board and a network status
page. Our customers have responded by using the forum extensively.
We created the forum as a simple means of creating a community that included all of our
customers as well as MM Internet staff. It's an innovative idea that very few ISPs have
tried, but it has gone over far better than we could have even hoped.
Our customers are able to discuss their problems. They don't have to
take the time to call tech support, and they can see if other people
are having the same problem they are. We've found that people still
email us or call us about individual problems, such as setup problems,
but people discuss broader issues such as download speeds on the forum.
MM Internet has been able to easily see what our customers are both
happy and unhappy about, and we respond.
There are examples of how well the forum has worked for us. During the first few weeks
MM Internet offered DSL our customers noticed low ping times to game servers, and let us
know by discussing it on the forum. MM Internet responded by upgrading our router and
letting our customers run their own Quake 2 server on our network.
The DSL forum is only part of MM Internet's commitment to providing useful support to
our customers. We are very serious about making every one of our wide range of customers
happy.
